Love is one of my favorite things to talk about, because it truly is a special and unique energy that has no rules, knows no boundaries and can be so powerful.

That’s how Rita, introduced Darren and Bryan’s wedding. An unique, extraordinary, amazing, stormy, fun, gay wedding on Grace Bay, Turks and Caicos.

“Darren and Bryan met at an interesting time in their lives, and under other circumstances, that for other people, it probably would have been thought of as bad timing. Their first few dates happened at the same exact time as Superstorm Sandy. With the general area being so heavily affected by power outages and gas stations not having gas, you would think it would have been hard or difficult for them to make time and get together. But because of that energy and that spark, that grew into the love of a lifetime, it was perfect timing. And knowing Darren and Bryan, and the life they have, some would say it was perfect storm, because we know they love adventure.”

In the afternoon of their wedding day, the beautiful Turks and Caicos sky turned into a dark, rainy, windy storm. They served champagne and cheese, sang songs, got wet and hoped for the best until it magically stopped raining. Bad weather does seem to be good luck for them.

Darren: “My first vow comes from one of my first moments when I knew you were going to be a lifer. My second vow is a commitment to adventure. My final vow to you is to return one of my first gifts you gave to me, and that’s to do all that I can to keep us simple, to always return to the one very simple thing that makes us work, and that’s the love we have for one another.  Because it’s all we’ve ever needed, and all we will ever need.”

Bryan: “Our first date was bookmarked by a seizure and a hurricane. Related? Who really knows… definitely not what ya think of as good omens though. But omens are pseudoscience and correlation doesn’t equal causality, so this discussion is irrelevant. The important point is, I met YOU! And I’m here now marrying YOU. And a whole lot of shit has happened in-between and it’s all so crazy and wonderful and magical! I am in awe of and overwhelmed by the love that brings you and me here, and all of us here to paradise.”

On the note of “Simply the Best” they laughed away their fun, quirky, hilarious first dance.

This amazing gay wedding on Grace Bay, Turks and Caicos, would not have happened without the help of some great local people:

Wedding Venue: Villa Turkuaz

Wedding Planner: Cinnamon Sun Events

Catering: Kissing Fish

I have to include a photo of the surprise cake topper!

Awesome couples deserve awesome photos. Including the real colors of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

I started Attimi Photography with the goal to offer personal, unique, sun-kissed, story-telling images and, above all, a great experience. So it has been my true pleasure to gift Darren and Bryan a second shoot in the morning. The perfect occasion to “Trash the dress” 😉

    I. Can’t. Even. ❤️😭😍

But you can. Our extremely talented photographer put together a blog on our wedding, and the photos are taking me right back to that day. Illeana captured the day in a way that we never thought possible. Take a look, (re)live the day with us, and let her (and us) know what you think.
