The vacation is over and it’s time to get back to work. Before stepping into the wedding and portrait mood, I want to share a few images of my latest Europe discovery: Budapest – Hungary. To celebrate my parents’ 49th anniversary and to fix my “travel bug”, I took a break from my month in Italy to spend a week in this amazing city. Straddling the Danube River, with the Buda Hills to the west and the Great Plain to the east, Budapest is a gem. The epic, faded grandeur; the elegant boulevards, the every night social life: it’s enough to take your breath away.
A city very much on a human scale, Budapest is easy to navigate, but still full of surprises.
The Hungarian Parliament building, a magnificent example of Neo-Gothic architecture, is just over 100 years old
The 700 year old Matthias Church on Castle Hill was the scene of several coronations, including that of Charles IV in 1916, the last Habsburg king
Szentendre, on the Danube Bend
After 49th years of marriage, they are closer then ever. I love you mom and dad
The impressive market
Playing with lines: the castle’s gardens
The Budapest Castle, the residence of the Princess Sisi (Elisabeth of Austria). My aunts and cousins are obsessed by the movie, I prefer it live. A special thought for you, Alma, Liliana, Mari, Celestina, Maria, hopeless romantic that prefer a world filled of princess and fairytale.
Enchanting by day, magical by night
Buildings and Co. are not my usual photographic subject, but an exception is a must in this case.
