A Large Family Portrait Turks & Caicos, Villa Hawksbill: fun, playful, messy, full of energy and laughters.

Due to the work schedule, the 21 family members spent only the weekend together, while the grandparents had the chance to enjoy only 4 grandkids at the time, making the entire stay truly special and a little more relaxing.

The fantastic Villa Hawksbill, one of the latest and most prestigious property in Leeward Beach, offered something for everyone: kids rooms, oversized pool, private chef, butler and housekeeper, and one of the most pristine beach in the world.

Week one: the “quite” side of the family

2 little dolls

I love those chubby cheeks and adorable smiles

A special thanks to my friend Marek, from Blue Lily Weddings, for the next two beautiful images. His photojournalism style added a special touch to my traditional portrait photography

Charles wanted to recreated a picture takin in Grace Bay a few years ago… the kid grew up, but the trow in the air was just as amazing

I love the moiton, the happy faces, the splash of the water on the beach

The Hawksbill Villa’ staff is amazing – joining the large Family Portrait was a must

Week 2: a little more energetic.

2 set of twins, 5 and 6 years old. The villa manager, the parents, and the grandma, each took turn to “warn me” about the challenge of the shoot: “The kids do not like having their pictures taken, they will not pose, take direction nor cooperate. Do the best you can but don’t stress if the session is over after 20 minutes”. I had a taste of the 4 trouble makers during the group shot, so I was prepared. We decided that each boy will be alone with me for a few minutes, then each set of twins, followed by the grandparents, and then the parents. Armed by my best child spirit, I was able to connect with every single one of them and we had a blast!

Kieran showed up with a long, crying face, telling me that he will never look at the camera, no matter what I did. After I showed him the image below, made him “in charge of the shoot”, and elected him my personal assistant, he wanted to be in every shot!

I took this picture holding my camera upside down: they thought it was hilarious. Childhood is amazing!

Cherry on the cake: we had so much fun together that the family invited me to stay for dinner. I don’t have kids of my own, that’s probably why I like so much to photograph and play with the ones of others!
