Destination weddings are beautiful but often the traditional elements are sacrificed and left at home. Not this time. Lauren and Sal’s Wedding at Beach House Turks & Caicos brought a touch of Persia to the Islands, filling the day with joy, colors, smiles and ceremonial traditions  that have been practiced for thousand of years.

One of my favorite is the Kalleh Ghand (sugar cones): during the ceremony happily married woman rub the cones together over the “ghand cloth” while held over the couple’s head to shower their life and marriage with sweetness.

Good to know: wedding venue: Beach House Turks & Caicos; wedding planner: Nila Destinations; flower and decor: Flowers by EA; hair dresser: Brigitte at Tangled Hair Salon; make up artist: Thea Make up Artistry; wedding photographer: Attimi Photography, of course!

A quick glance at the details… amazing just like the couple!

Matching robes, flip flops and a glass of champagne: exactly what you need to hang out with the girls

Meanwhile in the guys room… no worries, they toasted too!

Just gorgeous

Happy bride, happy mom

A sneak peek to the restaurant before heading towards the beach

So many symbolic items make up the Sofreh Aghhd spread (Table of Wedding), all representing an element of the couple’s new life together. The Mirror, bringing light and brightness into the future of the married couple; the candles, symbolizing the energy and clarity; the walnuts for fertility and abundance; the Quran, Bible and Torah, God’s blessing; the sweets and pastries to share with the guests after the ceremony and symbolism the sweetness of life; the coal brazier drive away negativity; the embodied cloth handed down from generation to generation.

Time for the Persian ceremony to begin – everyone please come closer

The large beach always allow me to move and capture the ceremony from different angles. Give a real prospective to the person looking at the images makes them more real. I love this shot taken between the ghnad cloth and the heads of the couple…

…as well as the wide angle photo, from the guests’ eyes prospective.

Love the kid on the background, coming closer to take a better look at the first kiss

Let’s eat, dance and be married
