Some weddings are big and complicated, others are intimate and simple, just like Sarah and Michael’s Wedding at Taylor Bay, Turks and Caicos.

I add the opportunity to meet the couple a year ago, when I photographed their beautiful family portrait at Villa Vieux Caribe. When Sarah informed they would get married during their family vacation, I was immediately excited at the idea to capture their wedding and see everyone again.

Sarah and Mike preferred a “home made” wedding: their friend Nick celebrated the ceremony; Katherine did the planning and coordinating along with Rebecca and Camille, the other two sisters-in-law, who helped with the flowers and cake; the girls did their own makeup, the kids made the most adorable ring bearers and flower girl. Simple, intimate, beautiful, just perfect.

A Wedding at Taylor Bay is usually synonymous of shallow turquoise water and blue sky, but the overcast sky replaced the vibrant colours with soft, muted and romantic tones.

Let’s start from the beginning, taking a look at the handsome guys

Time to get ready!

A shout out to Caroline at Maxime le Salon for the elegant hair styles.

At the villa it was windy, very windy. We struggles with the veil, but succeeded in capturing some beautiful bridal portraits

The first look with dad: I love those tears in his eyes, that “I love you my baby girl” hug

A little walk along the lush palm trees and long dock of Villa View Caribe…

…and we are by the water

Did I said adorable?!?

Shooting “through the people”, to make the viewer feel present. Interesting, isn’t it?

Someone was focus, someone else not so much 😉

From the bride: “A few words about our story…. Michael and I have a history which spans over ten years filled with love, adventure, and lots of laughter. We enjoy travelling together but Provo has a particularly special place in our hearts. I have been lucky enough to join Michael’s family on their vacation here the past few years and enjoy the tranquil waters, warm breezes, and stunning views with great people. Last year, Michael pulled off an intimate proposal on Taylor Bay when we were on our morning walk and had the entire beach to ourselves. We realized quickly that a quiet ceremony on that very beach would be the perfect wedding for us. It all came together beautifully as we celebrated (for a whole week!) in one of our favorite places with the people we love the most. Having my family and our closest friends join us for the week truly made us feel like one, big, silly, happy family. We are beyond grateful and feel so loved. We are also thrilled that Ileana could be there to capture another special moment” – Sarah
