I have been fortunate to photograph a few same-sex weddings over the years. Although gay weddings are not legally recognized in the Turks and Caicos yet, several same-sex couples have come to the islands and simply married one another in their own terms, celebrating in their own way. Anytime real love manifests itself in two people, I’m honored to be the one chosen to show the world what that looks like.
Jeff and Don celebrated their 20-year anniversary of commitment to each other by getting married in long Bay, Turks and Caicos, on Valentine’s Day. Their best friend gladly accepted to be the officiant and her fiancé their witness. What a wonderful day!
Long Bay is famous for the great wind that attract the most passionate kite boarders from all over the world. On February 14th, the lovers day for excellence, the wind magically stopped to give space to undisturbed love. Shall we thank Cupido’s super power?
The couple, expert stylists, chose vibrant colored polo shirts to add vibrancy to the first part of the shoot
A quick change of outfit, a few more portraits, and it’s time to get married
A quick glance to Don and Jeff and you know they are meant to be together
Brise de Mer Beach Villas, located directly on the pristine beach, is the perfect location for a very special day
Julie took her role very seriously and became a legal officiant in the States to celebrate the ceremony. She was great!
Playing with light, shadows and colors, for a dramatic effect
Love the t-shirts!
