Yes, I’m “just” a wedding photographer. But whenever I get asked to capture the wedding day of a special couple, I feel involved in the experience as much as the bride or groom’s best friend. I worry about the weather, I want everything to be perfect, I share tips and secret about the island, I care, stress, love, and bend backwards to make sure the dreamed wedding day becomes a beautiful reality.

This is particularly true for someone that touches my heart, like Lauren and Eric and their amazing Wedding at Casa Varnishkes, Long Bay, Turks and Caicos.

Enough about me, this is EWF & LAE wedding story, let’s hear it from the bride:

We always knew that we didn’t want to have a typical wedding with 200 guests in a ballroom in New Jersey and when we were deciding where to celebrate, we knew that bringing all of our closest friends and family to join us in Turks & Caicos was the right move. I’ve been coming to Turks since high school when my family bought Casa Varnishkes and Eric started joining me shortly after our relationship began in 2013. It’s an absolutely idyllic place that we both love and we knew it was the perfect spot for an intimate event with our closest circle.

As planning continued, we were stumped on who we should ask to perform the ceremony. Since we’re not particularly religious as a couple, we didn’t feel like a Rabbi was the right choice and, instead, chose my uncle Marco who we knew would do an amazing job. Marco is not only an incredibly smart, funny and creative guy, but he was also the recipient of a kidney donated by Eric’s mother Audrey and we thought that, symbolically, he was a perfect person to bridge the gap between our families during our ceremony.”

The gorgeous makeup is by Ann, at Beauty and the Beach; and the hair style by Geraldine at G Style Bar.

Love the details: the earrings are Lauren’s grandma; the veil is made with Judy’s (the bride’s mom) wedding dress

Just like magic, the wind picked up, the rain stopped and a little sunshine announced the beginning of the celebration.

Let’s forget about the wedding’s “must do” and meet each other on the villa’s private balcony before the ceremony, take the formal photos with the family and enjoy the entire cocktail party and reception with our guests!

Are bloopers permitted on a wedding blog post?!? If so, let’s title the next two photos: “What I wouldn’t do for my daughter!!!”. Love the expressions 🙂

Ileana- This is the closest we can come to reliving the magic of that night! You captured the beauty and spirit of the event and, most importantly, the people. Even the chair bloopers are perfect! Thank you!!!!!
