Yes, I'm "just" a wedding photographer. But whenever I get asked to capture the wedding day of a special couple, I feel involved in the experience as much as the bride or groom's best friend. I worry about the weather, I want everything to be perfect, I share tips and secret about the island, I care, stress, love, and bend backwards to make sure the dreamed wedding day becomes a beautiful reality.

This is particularly true for someone that touches my heart, like Lauren and Eric and their amazing Wedding at Casa Varnishkes, Long Bay, Turks and Caicos.

Who says mermaids only existed in fairytales? We had our very own here in Turks and Caicos when this beautiful family went all out with their fabulous mermaid tails. The family spent their vacation at the Tuscany on Grace Bay, and blew everybody out of the water with their outfit choice. The idea came to them from their previous trip to Turks and Caicos, when the youngest girl, befriended another visitor who just so happened to be swimming in a mermaid tail of her own. From that moment on, Cecily was completely taken by the concept, and so her grandmother had the wonderful idea of getting them for the entire family.

What started off as a playful joke, made by the eldest daughter, turned into reality when they decided to have their family photo shoot as mermaids. Even the men took part in the festivity!

My favorite kind of family?!? The one that keeps coming back to the Turks and Caicos year after year. I love to see the kids growing, hear the parents' latest stories, share beautiful moments and capture precious photographs.

Erica (mom) is the photo shoot master: she carefully select the outfits with class and style, she share the excitement and look forward to treasure the images. The boys "come along" - despite the initial reluctancy, they always have a great time.
